Explore Vault 63 and journey to the Skyline Valley in Fallout 76's Into Lands Unknown.
Audrey, Hilda, Hugo, and Cassidy Stolz are an unusual family you'll get to know during your time in Skyline Valley, as you perform various tasks to help each member. Given Cassidy's condition, she won't be able to do much for the time being, so you will need to help rescue her during The Oldest Trick In The Book.
How To Start The Oldest Trick In The Book
The Oldest Trick In The Book begins immediately after completing the Seeking Shelter quest.
Hugo will interrupt your conversation with Audrey to explain that Cassidy has been kidnapped by someone named Alex.
Agree to help Hugo through violent or non-violent means, then head to the Old Crimora Mines marked on your map.
You can change your mind and pursue either method when the opportunity arrives.
When you arrive at the Old Crimora Mines, check the small shack outside for a set of Cultist Garments you can use to infiltrate their hideout.
Equip the disguise and head inside the mines, ignoring the other Cultists until you reach a man sitting on a box named Disciple Blaire.
If you have four PER or higher, Blaire will tell you about the defectors from Hugo's group who live among the Cultists.
Check Blaire's notes behind him to learn more about the Cultist hierarchy, then head upstairs and across the bridge to Elder Pepper.
Elder Pepper will reject you without a password, so you must find it to get past him and continue your search for Alex and Cassidy.
From here, you'll have to ask the Cultists to figure out the password.
Go directly to Adept Scarlet, who will be willing to help you, but unfortunately, she doesn't have the password.
However, she directs you to Alex's room (the one beside Scarlet) where you can find the password.
Head into Alex's room to find a Password sheet on the bed pushed up next to the wall.
Go back to Elder Pepper and recite the ridiculously long password to access the area behind him.
Continue downward along the path, across a bridge, and down further until you reach a large circular room.
How To Rescue Cassidy
You'll arrive in a ritual chamber with a huge bonfire in the center and Cultists praying around it.
Beside the bonfire, standing next to a throne, is Alex, overseeing the ritual.
Speak to Alex and explain your reason for coming.
You can choose to attack Alex and the Cultists or opt for a peaceful solution using Hugo's book, but either choice leads to the same outcome.
The book is a trap, and even if you want things to end peacefully, Hugo's plotting ensures there is no peaceful result.
From here, fend off the Cultists and fight your way out of the hideout.
Retrace your steps toward the bridge, and on your way up, stop by the wooden door with a small window – this is Cassidy's cell.
Open the door, which triggers Cassidy's rescue – you don't need to carry her out yourself.
You could also stop by this door on your way to Alex, but you'll still need to deal with Alex and the Cultists first to complete the quest.
Exit the hideout and make your way back to Dark Hollow Manor to report the news to Hugo.
Hugo and Audrey will be arguing about Hugo's actions when you arrive.
Rewards
Once you finish listening to the family drama, you'll receive your rewards:
- Plan: Cultist Monarch Mask
- Plan: Cultist Monarch Outfit
- Mixed aid
- Grenades
- Caps
- XP
If you've completed Double Crossed Wires, then the Gathering Clouds quest will begin shortly after this quest.
