"Another easy to make recipe (my favorite kind). I love good recipe, but I like them to be easy. Prep time includes standing time for apples and juice. All else can be mixed while waiting on the apples to stand in the juice."

  1. I wish there were more then 5 stars for how good this was! We got a bag of dried granny smith apples for Christmas and I found this recipe to use them. I also defrosted a box of 2 pie crusts I had bought at Christmas time. This was thick and "fudgy" (though not chocolatey fudgy is the only word I could come up with to describe the texture) and had a wonderful flavor. It was high in WW points (9 for 1/8th of the pie when using store bought crust) but worth every bit of those points. This deserves 10 stars. Thanks!

  2. I am terrible at making pies but this came out WONDERFUL! I've done it twice, once with white sugar in the mix and once with brown sugar. Both pies had crumble toppings. The brown tasted better. (or so said my guests) Great taste and easy to make.

  3. Great idea for using dried apples!I made the pie today, using one crust and a crumble top and it is very good. I like the spices and although I nearly burned it that was the oven, not the recipe. I will have to bake it at 375 next time. I will probably put in dried cranberries with it next time. 4. This was soooo good. Was surprised how tasty this turned out. My DH just loved it. We dry our own apples so I will be making this often. Thanks for posting this wonderful recipe.

  5. Sooo good! I made this for Thanksgiving and everyone said it was the best apple pie ever. I was going to add dried cranberries, but forgot, also soaked the apples for longer because I was busy, and that was just fine. May be the cider that gives it a dark, rich consistency but whatever it is, it's heavenly- plus, it fills the house with a wonderful smell as you cook the apples/cider. I recommend a light buttery crust.
